Side-dish papad. Papad recipes. Papad! The moment you say papad, I am sure you might be hearing that crunchy bite in your head. Be it fried papad or the roasted, they are sure to add punch to any simple meal, with their crispy texture!
Commonly made of urad dal, rice flour, sago and other such ingredients, perked up with spices, ground green chillies, etc., papads are tasty treats that go well with one-pot meals like Khichdi, Pulao and Biryanis or a full-fledged thali too. You can also try your hands on instant whole wheat masala papad that does not require any drying & can be made quickly as a side-dish to your bland meal.
A unique and must-try, the masala papad is very easy to make. All you have to do is sprinkle some chopped vegetables and spice powders on top of papad. You can even drizzle green chutney to make it peppier.
Another version of this masala papad is the Masala Khichiya Papad. It is also a popular Mumbai roadside food. Using our Khichiya papad recipe, you can make dry papad at home and store in an air-tight container and use as required. Fried Khichiya Papad is my favorite side-dish with a bowl of khichdi-kadhi.
