An authentic and very easy to prepare banana pakodas recipe using raw banana slices, gram flour or besan , spices and green chilies. The deep fried spicy banana pakodas taste superb with coriander and tomato chutney. Go relish!

Banana Pakoda recipe - How to make Banana Pakoda

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:    Makes 4 servings

Ingredients

10 raw banana
1 tbsp green chilli paste
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1/2 tbsp chilli powder
1 tsp sugar
150 gms besan (bengal gram flour)
1 tbsp lemon juice
oil for deep frying

Method
    Method
  1. Make 2 piece of each banana and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  2. Cool, peel and mash the bananas.
  3. Add the remaining ingredients,except the besan and mix well.
  4. Divide the mixture into equal portions and roll them into small round flat balls.
  5. Make a paste of besan and water and mix well.
  6. Heat the oil in a kadhai, dip vadas in the besan mixture and deep fry the vadas till they turn golden brown and crisp from all the sides.
  7. Serve hot.
