  2. Remove in a plate and cool it slightly. Transfer into a mixer jar and blend into a fine powder.
  3. Combine, toovar dal, radish, raw banana, raw papaya, pumpkin, brinjal, onions, ginger garlic paste, green chilli paste, salt and 2 cups of water.
  4. Mix well and pressure-cook it for 3 whistles. Allow the steam to escape and then open the lid.
  5. Heat 2 tsp ghee in a deep pan, add kashmiri dry chilli and panch phoron. Sauté for a few seconds.
  6. Add the turmeric powder, coriander cumin seeds powder, chilli powder and prepared spice mix. Sauté for a few seconds.
  7. Add the cooked dal and little salt to taste. Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes.

  2. Add ¼ tsp fenugreek (methi) seeds
  3. Add 1 whole dry pandi chillies.
  4. Add 1 small cinnamon (dalchini) stick.

  6. Add 3 cloves (laung / lavang).
  7. Add 4 black peppercorns (kalimirch).

  18. Add ½ tsp turmeric powder (haldi).
  19. Add ½ tsp chilli powder.
