A fabulous omelette is cooked and sandwiched with cheese between two slices of buttered, chutney-lined bread slices, and then toasted on a tava to a crispy golden brown. Buttery, cheesy and crisp, with a succulent omelette filling, this sandwich is a dream come true for every egg-lover.

Omelette Sandwich On A Tawa recipe - How to make Omelette Sandwich On A Tawa

Preparation Time:    Cooking Time:    Total Time:    Makes 2 sandwiches

Ingredients

3 eggs
2 tbsp finely chopped onions
2 tbsp finely chopped capsicum
2 tbsp deseeded and finely chopped tomatoes
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
salt and freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) to taste
4 bread slices
2 tsp butter for spreading
4 tsp green chutney
2 cheese slices
1 tsp butter for brushing
1 tsp butter for cooking

For Serving
tomato ketchup

Method
    Method
  1. Combine the eggs, salt and pepper in a deep bowl and whisk well using a fork.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients and mix well.
  3. Heat 1 tsp of butter in a small broad non-stick pan, pour the egg mixture, cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  4. Turnover and cook on a medium flame for 2 more minutes.
  5. Fold the omelette and cut it into half using the spatula. Keep aside.
  6. Place 2 bread slices on a clean dry surface, apply ½ tsp of butter and 1 tsp of green chutney on each bread slice.
  7. Place half of the omlette on one buttered-chutney side and 1 cheese slice over it.
  8. Cover it with the another bread slice with the buttered –chutney side facing downwards and press lightly.
  9. Apply ½ tsp of butter on it and spread it evenly.
  10. Heat ½ tsp of butter on a non-stick tava (griddle), place the prepared sandwich on it with the buttered side facing upwards and cook on a medium flame till both sides turn crispy and golden brown in colour.
  11. Repeat steps 6 to 10 to make 1 more sandwich.
  12. Serve immediately with tomato ketchup.

Omelette sandwich.. wow.. this taste so awesome.. with spicy green chutney.. and gooey cheese.. everybody enjoyed this sandwich.. in breafast.. taste best when it is hot and crispy..
