Potato roti is made with potatoes, whole whet flour, coriander, spices and ghee tossed into the dough. Use 2 tablespoons water and knead into a soft aloo roti dough. The potato roti made with whole wheat is then cooked on a non stick tawa or griddle till golden brown in colour.

Makes 15 rotis
Potato Roti With Whole Wheat Flour
1 1/2 cups boiled , peeled and mashed potatoes
2 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tbsp finely chopped green chillies
1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
salt to taste

- To make {span class="bold1"}potato roti with whole wheat flour{/span}, combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough without using any water.
- Divide the dough into 15 equal portions.
- Roll a portion of the dough into a 150 mm. (6”) diameter thin circle using a little whole wheat flour for rolling.
- Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and cook the roti, using a little oil, till golden brown spots appear on both the sides.
- Repeat steps 3 and 4 to make 14 more rotis.
- Serve the {span class="bold1"}potato roti with whole wheat flour{/span} immediately with fresh curds and green chutney.

Dough For Whole Wheat Potato Roti

To make Wholewheat Potato Roti, Grate the potatoes with the thick side of a grater we have taken approx 3 medium sized potatoes.

In a deep bowl, add whole wheat flour

Add grated potatoes.

Add ¼ cup finely chopped coriander.

For a little spice, add 1 tsp of finely chopped green chillies.

Add melted ghee.

Add salt to taste.
- Combine all the ingredients and mix well. Use approx 2-3 tbsp water and knead into a soft dough.
Rolling The Whole Wheat Potato Roti

To make the Whole Wheat Potato Roti, divide the dough into 6 equal portions

Put a little flour on the rolling board, place a portion of dough ball on rolling board and press it.

Roll out a portion of the dough into a 125 mm. (5”) diameter circle with the help of a little plain flour. Roll the roti gently as the dough is very soft.

Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and carefully place the Whole Wheat Potato Roti over it. Cook the roti till it is golden brown from the bottom.

Apply 1/2 tsp of peanut oil, flip and cook the other side.
- Apply 1/2 tsp peanut oil oil on the other side and cook till the potato roti has golden brown spots on both the sides.
