To make Chinese panini, for the Chinese stuffing, heat the oil in a broad non-stick pan, add the spring onion whites and garlic paste and sauté on a medium flame for 2 minutes. Add the carrot, cabbage, capsicum and salt, mix well and cook on a high flame for 2 minutes, while stirring continuously. Add the Schezuan sauce, tomato ketchup, soy sauce, vinegar and sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute. Switch off the flame, add the spring onion greens, mix well and keep aside.

Then to make Chinese panini, divide the chinese stuffing into 4 equal portions. Slit each hot dog roll horizontally using a sharp knife. Apply 1 tsp of butter on each side. Take one bread roll and on the lower halve of the hot dog roll put a portion of the chinese stuffing and spread it evenly. Finally sprinkle 1 tbsp of fried noodles evenly over it. Close the hot dog roll and apply ½ tsp of butter on top. Place it in a greased pre-heated sandwich griller and grill for 5 minutes or till it turns crispy and brown from both the sides. Repeat steps 3 and 4 to make 3 more paninis. Cut each panini diagonally into 2 equal pieces. Serve immediately.

Ingredients


For The Chinese Stuffing
1 tbsp oil
1/2 cup sliced spring onions whites
2 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
1/2 cup carrot juliennes
1/2 cup shredded cabbage
1/2 cup sliced capsicum
salt to taste
1 1/2 tbsp schezwan sauce
2 tsp tomato ketchup
1/2 tsp soy sauce
1/2 tsp vinegar
1/2 tsp sugar
1/4 cup chopped spring onion greens

Other Ingredients For Chinese Panini
4 hot dog rolls
10 tsp butter for spreading and brushing
4 tbsp fried noodles

  6. Now add the tomato ketchup. Also, you can use tamarind chutney or sweet chilli sauce.
  7. Add the soy sauce. It provides the much needed umami flavor.
  8. Add the vinegar and sugar, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute.
  9. Switch off the flame, add the spring onion greens.
  10. Mix well and keep aside. Your Chinese panini stuffing is ready!
  11. Divide the Chinese stuffing into 4 equal portions.

Too good... can be diagonally cut and served as a snack or its fabulous as a meal too. Of course the recipe calls for a little planning, but its worth it... it''s definitely appealing to serve these panini instead of toast and grilled sandwich to guests...

Chinese panini, it really nice and quick recipe with lots of veggies.. and to add more crunch the crispy noodles just works the best.. i like to have this panini.. crispy from out also..
