Ingredients


For Corn Methi Kebab
1 cup boiled and coarsely crushed sweet corn kernels (makai ke dane)
1/2 cup chopped fenugreek (methi) leaves
1/2 cup boiled , peeled and mashed potatoes
2 tbsp chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder
2 tbsp rice flour (chawal ka atta)
1 tbsp cornflour
salt to taste
1 tsp oil for cooking

  1. To make the {span class="bold1"}corn methi kebab{/span}, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into 8 equal portions and shape each portion into 50 mm. (2”) diameter round flat tikkis.
  3. Cook each tikki on a non-stick tava (griddle) using 1/8 tsp of oil till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides.
  4. Serve the {span class="bold1"}corn methi kebab{/span} hot.

Method for the Corn Methi Kebab

  1. To mkae corn methi kebab recipe |  corn methi tikki | in a deep, clean bowl put the Corn. The corn is boiled first and then coarsely blended in mixer.
  2. To this we will add the finely chopped methi. Methi not only gives freshness but is also very healthy!
  3. Now add the potatoes. The potatoes are first boiled and then mashed thoroughly with the help of a masher.
  4. Then add the finely chopped coriander for taste.
  5. Add the ginger paste. This will give a nice earthy taste to the tikki.
  6. Now add the jeera powder for taste.
  7. Also add the chilli powder for a spicy taste.
  8. For the crispiness, we will add rice flour.
  9. Also add cornflour for the binding.
  10. Finally add some salt to taste. Mix well and combine all the ingredients together with your hands.
  11. This will form a rough dough like mixture which will hold its shape when shaped into tikkis. 
  12. Divide the mixture into 8 portions. Take one portion and shape it into a 50 mm. (2”) diameter round flat tikki using both your hands.
  13. Do this for the remaining 7 portions as well. Keep aside.
  14. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) and grease it with 1/4 tsp oil.
  15. Once the oil gets hot, place the 8 corn methi tikkis on it and cook till the bottom side down turns golden brown.
  16. Brush the remaining oil over the other corn methi kebab |  corn methi tikki |.
  17. Flip the corn methi kebab recipe |  corn methi tikki | with the help of a spatula and cook on the other side as well till golden brown in color. Cooking on both the sides will take about 10 minutes.
  18. Remove on a plate and serve corn methi kebab (corn methi tikki) immediately with a Healthy Green Chutney.

Yummmmmyyyyyyyyy, too tasty, combination of Methi leaves and corn with potato is too good.I added 1-1 1/2 tbsp sugar and 2-3 drops of lemon juice which tastes much better with methi.
