For Aloo Tikki
1 cup boiled , peeled and mashed potatoes
1/2 cup boiled and coarsely crushed green peas
1 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
1 tsp chaat masala
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
salt to taste
oil for greasing and cooking

For Serving With Aloo Tikki

  1. To make the aloo tikki, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  2. Divide the mixture into 6 equal portions and shape each portion into a round, flat 50 mm. (2”) tikki.
  3. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) on a medium flame and grease it with oil and cook the tikkis, using little oil, till both sides are golden brown in colour.
  4. Serve the aloo tikki hot with tomato ketchup or green chutney.

To make the Mixture for Aloo Tikkis

  1. To make the mixture of Aloo Tikki recipe (Punjabi Aloo Tikki),  take a deep bowl and the potatoes into it.
  2. Now, add the green peas.
  3. Add the coriander. It will give a hint of freshness to your Aloo Tikkis.
  4. Add the chaat masala to perk up the flavours of your Aloo Tikki.

  3. Make 5 more aloo tikkis and arrange them on a plate.
  4. Grease the pan well with the help of a brush using a oil or any other fat.
  5. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) on a medium flame. Place the Aloo Tikkis on the hot tava.
  6. Apply a little oil on the Aloo Tikki and cook till one side becomes golden brown and a crust forms on the surface.
  7. Flip and cook the other side of the Aloo Tikkis in the same way.
  8. Transfer the aloo tikki to your serving plate. Serve hot with tomato ketchup and green chutney. You can also use these Aloo Tikkis to make Aloo tikki Chaat.
