Coleslaw salad is an international favorite, made with shredded cabbage and other ingredients dressed in a tangy salad cream or vinaigrette dressing. The Cabbage, Apple and Pineapple Coleslaw features a vibrant combination of veggies and fruits perked up with a mustard-flavored, lemony salad cream. The addition of pineapple to the coleslaw gives the salad a fruity sharpness, eliminating the need for vinegar in the dressing.

Makes 6 servings
To Be Mixed Into A Salad Cream
1/2 cup fresh cream
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp mustard (rai/sarson) powder
1/2 tbsp powdered sugar
1/2 tbsp lemon juice
salt and freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) to taste
Other Ingredients
2 cups finely chopped cabbage
2 1/2 cups apple cubes
1 1/2 cups pineapple cubes
1/2 cup chopped celery (ajmoda)
1 1/2 cups iceberg lettuce , torn into pieces
1 cup grated carrot
- Method
- Combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl, add the salad cream and toss well.
- Refrigerate for atleast 1 hour and serve chilled.
