Coconut Sauce

Let a spoonful of this creamy Coconut Sauce rest on your palate for a few seconds and you will be amazed by the varied flavours it has. From the spiciness of green chillies to the tanginess of the lemon juice, from the aromatic lure of curry leaves to the mellow soothing flavour of coconut milk, this lovely sauce has it all. It can be used as a mild accompaniment for dishes like Set Dosa, or used to prepare delicacies like Dosa Lasagne.

Makes 1 cup
1 cup coconut milk
2 tsp cornflour
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
2 curry leaves (kadi patta)
1 tsp green chilli paste
1 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp sugar
1 tbsp oil
salt to taste
- Method
- Heat the oil in a broad nonstick pan, add the cumin seeds, curry leaves and green chilli paste and sauté on a medium flame for few seconds.
- Add the coconut milk and corn flour, mix well using a whisk and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
- Add the lemon juice, sugar and salt and mix well.
- Use as required.

Wow, coconut sauce, creamy in taste and rich in flavour. Added this to boiled vegetables and made a stew, for my appam which i had made. It was super yummy.
Great recipe to go with idlis and dosas. Love the rich flavor of coconut in this recipe.
