Two interesting fruits – pear and pomegranate, not very commonly used in smoothies, are combined with curds, milk and ice cubes to make the comforting pink-coloured pear and pomegranate smoothie. Adjust the sugar content according to the tanginess of the pomegranate.

Ingredients

2 cups chilled , peeled and roughly chopped pear
1/2 cup chilled pomegranate (anar)
1/4 cup chilled fresh curds (dahi) mixed with 1/4 cup chilled full-fat milk
2 tbsp sugar
1 cup ice-cubes

For The Topping
4 ice-cubes

    Method
  1. Combine the curds-milk mixture, pear, pomegranate, sugar and ice-cubes and blend in a juicer till the mixture is smooth and frothy.
  2. Pour equal quantities of the smoothie into 2 individual glasses.
  3. Serve immediately topped with 2 ice-cubes in each glass.
