Preparation and cooking of tawa rice is quite simple and quick. Here, we have not even used much masala’s and ingredients. We have used basic ingredients that I can bet on would be available in every Indian household.
To make tawa rice firstly prepare chilli garlic paste by pounded Kashmiri red mirchi and garlic with little water in a mortar and pestle and keep aside. Further, take a tawa add oil in the tava. You can also use butter if you wish to, butter will enhance the taste even better. Next, add veggies onions. Capsicum and tomatoes cook them. Once veggies are cooked, add turmeric which would give our tava rice a vibrant yellow color and also, add curd.
Curd would impart creaminess and tanginess to our tawa rice and make it taste even better. Further, add the cooked rice and 1 ½ tsp of pav bhaji masala which would get the taste of tava rice to heaven and make it taste just WOW!! Mix cheese veg tava rice well and serve with grated cheese on top and a lemon wedge on side.

To make masala mathri, combine the maida, ajwain, cumin seeds, chilli powder, black pepper powder, ghee and salt in a deep bowl and knead into a stiff dough using enough water. Divide the dough into 5 equal portions. Roll out one portion of the dough into a 100 mm. (4”) diameter circle. Pinch the edges of the rolled mathri to form a design. (as shown in image 1). Prick the mathri with a fork at regular intervals. (as shown in image 2). Repeat steps 3 to 5 to make 4 more mathris. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick kadhai and deep-fry 3 mathris at a time, on a medium flame for 8 to 10 minutes or till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper. Repeat step 7 to deep-fry 2 more mathris in one more batch. Serve or store in an air-tight container.
