Description

Amla is a round shaped, vertical striped fibrous fruit of the deciduous tree "Euphorbiaceae" found mainly in India. It is greenish yellow in color and tastes sour. The fresh fruit is cut into rough pieces and then sun-dried. Once completely dried, blend in a mixer to make a fine powder.

Purchase amla powder from known Ayurvedic stores or pharmecy. Ensure that the powder you purchase is packed properly and sealed from all ends.

Culinary Uses

1. Added to herbal tea, it gives a perfect blend of flavour and antioxidant benefits.
2. Amla powder blended with mint leaves and topped with a lemon would make a refreshing cooler which would also assist digestion
