What is rum essence, rum ka essence?

Rum essence is a highly concentrated flavour extracted from rum. It is a clear yellowish brown colored liquid with a volatile fruity caramelic aroma, typical of rum which has been matured in a barrel. The Specific gravity at 25 deg C is: 0.939 - 0.943. Artificial essence is simply chemical mixtures that mimic a natural flavor in some way. Anything that we smell has to contain some sort of volatile chemical -- a chemical that evaporates and enters a person's nose. Rum essence has just one or a few dominant chemical components (usually esters) that carry the bulk of the taste/smell signal. If you add these esters to a product, the product will taste, to some degree, like rum.

The main ingredients are Ethyl Acetate, Ethyl Propionate, Acetyl Propionyl, Diacetyl, Maple Lactone, Maltol, Oakwood Extract, Rum Extract, Vanilla Extract, Propylene Glycol. This flavour is compounded from nature rum concentrate together with other aroma chemicals identified in rum aroma.
