3 cups button mushrooms (khumbh)
oil for deep-frying

For The Batter
1 1/4 cups plain flour (maida)
1/4 cup cornflour
1 tsp white pepper powder
1 tsp sesame seeds (til)
salt to taste

  1. Mix together the flour, cornflour, pepper, sesame seeds and salt with 1/2 cup of water to form a smooth batter. Set aside

How to proceed

  1. Wash, drain and fry the mushrooms.
  2. Dip the mushrooms in the batter and deep fry till golden brown.
  3. Serve hot with sweet and sour dip.

  1. Make sure the prepared batter is thick enough to coat the mushrooms.
