Ingredients


16 dates (khajur), deseeded and chopped
1 1/2 cups milk
3/4 cup oil
3/4 cup powdered sugar
1 cup plain flour (maida)
2 tbsp cocoa powder (optional)
1 tsp baking soda
a few drops of vanilla essence

Method

  1. Boil milk.
  2. Remove from heat and add chopped dates.
  3. While milk cools,grease and dust(with flour) a 9" glass/microwaveable dish.
  4. Sift flour,soda and cocoa powder(if using).
  5. Blend the cooled milk and dates in a mixer.
  6. Add oil and sugar and blend well.
  7. Add vanilla essence.
  8. Fold in flour and cocoa.
  9. Pour into prepared dish and microwave on high for 10-11 minutes.
  10. Let it cool before cutting into pieces to serve.
