Crostini is a traditional Italian appetizer consisting of small slices of grilled or toasted bread, brushed with olive oil, and boosted with amazing toppings.

The toppings can be as simple as a dab of cheese and herbs, or it can consists of veggies, fruits, sauces and herbs. The Avocado and Cherry Tomato Crostini is an outstanding combo of mashed avocado and cherry tomatoes on slices of French bread, drizzled with olive oil and sprinkled with sea salt.

Creamy avocado combines beautifully with succulent sweet-sour cherry tomatoes giving us a very tasteful crostini, which is ideal to serve as a starter at parties.

8 french bread slices
32 cherry tomato halves
olive oil for brushing
sea salt (khada namak) for sprinkling
2 tsp olive oil for drizzling

To Be Mixed Into An Avocado Mixture
1/2 cup mashed ripe avocado
1 1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp sea salt (khada namak)
freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) to taste

  1. Place the french bread slices on a greased baking tray and brush a little olive oil on each french bread slice.
  2. Bake in pre-heated oven at 200°c (400°f) for 15 minutes, or till they turn light brown in colour.
  3. Cool completely, apply a little avocado mixture on each toasted french bread slice.
  4. Put 4 cherry tomato halves, sprinkle a little sea salt and drizzle ¼ tsp olive oil on each toasted bread slice.
  5. Serve immediately.
