Ingredients

2 toasted brown bread slices

For The Mushroom Filling
1/2 cup finely chopped mushrooms (khumbh)
2 tsp butter
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 tsp plain flour (maida)
salt to taste
1/4 cup milk
1/4 tsp dried oregano
1 tbsp finely chopped parsley

Method
For the mushroom filling

  1. Heat the butter in a broad non-stick pan add the onions and green chillies and sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute, while stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the mushrooms, plain flour and salt and sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes.
  3. Add the milk , mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes.
  4. Add oregano and parsley, mix well and keep aside.

  1. Cut each toasted bread slice into 4 squares, top each square with 1½ tsp of the prepared mushroom filling.
  2. Serve immediately.

mushroom canapes.. i love mushrooms a lot.. and these bite size canapes.. has made my parties and snack time a great hit.. the perfectly cooked mushroom.. and the dash of parsely and oregano.. just gives a different taste to the canapes.. It is also has a white sauce base which keeps it moist..
