Ingredients


3 cups canned or fresh mixed fruits, chopped into big pieces

For the marinade
1 tbsp lemon juice and grated lemon rind of 1 lemon
2 tbsp honey

For the flambe
2 tbsp rum or brandy (optional)

Method
    Method
  1. Place all the fruits in a shallow dish.
  2. In a small bowl, mix together the lemon juice, rind and honey.
  3. Pour this mixture over the fruits and leave to marinate for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Lift the fruits out of the marinade and arrange different fruits alternately onto 8 small thin skewers.
  5. Place the skewers in an ovenproof baking dish and grill in a preheated oven at 200 degree C (400 degree F) for 2 to 3 minutes.
  6. Warm the rum in a big spoon, set alight and pour over the skewers.
  7. Serve at once.

Tips
  1. You can use the strawberries, peaches, bananas, pineapples, black grapes as the fruits.
  2. Arrange contrasting colored fruits next to each other so that the brochettes look visually appealing.
  3. You can also use tooth picks instead of skewers.
