Ingredients

2 tsp olive oil
2 tsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
3 cups cooked rice (chawal)
2 tsp red chilli paste
6 tsp boiled and chopped mixed vegetables (french beans , green peas and baby corn)
4 tsp coconut milk
1 tsp lemon rind
1 tsp freshly ground black pepper powder
2 tsp chopped basil leaves
salt to taste
banana leaves (kele ka patta) for wrapping

Method
    Method
  1. Heat the oil in a non stick pan, add the ginger garlic paste and saute for a minute.
  2. Add the red chilli paste, vegetables, coconut milk, lemon rind , pepper , basil , salt and rice, mix well and saute for 2-3 minutes.
  3. Remove from the flame and cool slightly.
  4. Cut the banana leaves in square shapes of desired size..
  5. Place 2-3 tsp of rice mixture at the center of banana leaves.
  6. Fold the edges and seal with toothpick.
  7. Steam in a steamer for 5 minutes.
  8. Unfold and serve immediately.

    Handy tip
  1. You can prepare the rice wraps well in advance for party and steam the same just 5 minutes prior serving time.
  2. You can serve half rice with unfolded also.
  3. You can use any other mixed vegetables of your choice like carrot, capsicum etc.
