For Moong Dahi Misal
2 cups parboiled sprouted moong (whole green gram)
1/2 cup whisked curds (dahi)
3 tbsp khajur ki chutney
1/2 cup chopped tomatoes
2 tbsp finely chopped onions
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder for sprinkling
1 tsp chilli powder for sprinkling
salt to taste
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)

  1. To make moong dahi misal, place 1 cup of moong sprouts on a serving plate, top with ¼ cup whisked curds, 1½ tbsp of khajur imli ki chutney, ¼ cup of tomatoes and 1 tbsp of onions.
  2. Finally sprinkle little cumin seeds powder, chilli powder and salt. Finally sprinkle coriander.
  3. Repeat steps 1 and 2 to make 1 more serving.
  4. Serve the moong dahi misal immediately.

  2. Put little salt and enough water.
  3. Microwave on HIGH for 5 minutes. We want them par boiled and not over cooked.
  4. Drain them using a drainer.
  5. Put half the moong sprouts on a serving plate.
  6. Pour ¼ cup of curds evenly over it.
  7. Put 1½ tbsp of sweet chutney evenly over it.
  8. Sprinkle ¼ cup of tomatoes. If not looking for a healthy moong dahi misal, you can sprinkle boiled potatoes and crunchy fried snacks like sev, masala chana and peanuts.
  9. Also sprinkle 1 tbsp of onions. If you are Jain, skip adding it.
  10. Finally sprinkle cumin seeds powder. Always roast jeera before crushing it into powder to get that enhanced flavour of cumin seeds.
  11. Also, sprinkle chilli powder. If making for kids, skip adding it.
  12. Sprinkle salt.
  13. Finally sprinkle coriander.
  14. Repeat steps 5 to 13 to make 1 more serving.

Having misal, which is not too spicy, quick to make and so wholesome and made healthy. The juices of tomatoes just burst into the mouth. It is just so good.
