Ingredients


For The Mushroom Filling
5 to 6 tbsp oil
1 cup chopped onions
1 cup chopped tomatoes
salt to taste
mustard (rai / sarson) powder to taste
red chilli flakes to taste
2 cups mushrooms (khumbh) , boiled and chopped
2 tbsp tomato ketchup
1 tsp vinegar

For The Potato Shell
5 to 6 potatoes , boiled and grated
salt to taste
2 tbsp butter

Other Ingredients
7 tbsp plain flour (maida) , dissolved in 1 cup water
2 to 3 slices of bread , grounded into crumbs
oil for deep frying

Method
For the mushroom filling

    For the mushroom filling
  1. Heat the oil in a pan, add the onions and saute till they turn light brown in colour.
  2. Add the tomatoes and cook till they are soft.
  3. Add the salt, mustard powder and chilli flakes and mix well.
  4. Add the mushrooms, mix well and saute for some time.
  5. Add the tomato ketchup and vinegar, mix well and cook for 1 minutes.
  6. Remove from the flame and keep aside.

For the potato shell

  1. In a deep bowl, add the salt and butter to the potatoes, mix well.
  2. Sprinkle 1 tbsp of maida and mix again.

How to proceed

    How to proceed
  1. Take small amounts of mashed potato and flatten them into round shapes.
  2. Place a spoonful of the mushroom filling in each of these and gently seal into rolls.
  3. Gently dip the potato rolls into the maida batter, then roll them over the bread crumbs.
  4. Heat the oil in a kadhai and deep fry till crisp and brown.
  5. Serve hot with ketchup.
