The food groups will remain the same as they were in the last phase viz.
7 months. Only the textures will change. As your baby grows older, around the age of 8 to 9 months, you can introduce a whole lot of new foods to her diet.

Liquid Supplements

Dairy products: At this time of the first year, you can introduce curds (made with cow's milk) followed by paneer in combination with other foods like in Spinach Paneer Puree etc.

Fruit and Vegetable Juices and Soups: By the age of 8 to 9 months, most babies are quite ready for unstrained soups and juices in increased quantities. All the vegetables, including green leafy vegetables, can be cooked in small amounts of water and blended along with the water that they are cooked in, as this is rich in water-soluble vitamins like B and C. To minimize the risk of infections, do remember to wash and peel the fruits and vegetables thoroughly before feeding your baby. Greens can be combined with other vegetables or dals to make flavourful soups. Try our suggestions like Palak Moong Dal Soup, Potato and Vegetable Soup, Mixed Vegetable Soup etc. Juices like those of carrots and muskmelon, which you were feeding in seventh month, can also be continued.

Semi-Solid Supplements

Although your baby may be eating the same foods as before, their consistency will change as she will have acquired new skills like biting and chewing. Gradually, start with cooked whole dals and pulses as alternative sources of protein to supplement your baby's diet. Check out recipes like Dal and Vegetable Mash and Rice Mash. Add a teaspoon of ghee to improve their nutritive quality, as growing babies need plenty of nourishment to help them grow healthy.
