moong dal khichu recipe | Gujarati yellow moong dal khichu | Gujarati quick khichu snack | healthy khichu |

Khichu fans claim it to be the tastiest snack in the world! Indeed, piping hot khichu, with its doughy consistency and soothing taste, is sure to warm your soul and remind you of home.

While khichu is usually made with grain-based flours like rice flour or jowar flour, here we present an interesting variant made with moong dal.

The Yellow Moong Dal Khichu has a pleasant colour and satiating flavour. It tastes awesome with a splash of Koro Sambhar and a drizzle of oil!

Make sure you serve this khichu really hot, immediately after preparation as khichu tend to thicken and lose their characteristic consistency as they cool down.

Try other khichu variants like Whole Rice Khichu and Jowar Khichu .

Didn’t turn out very good. Doesn’t taste as good as rice khichu. Was liquidy and stayed like that in spite of stirring for half an hour.

Hello Shreya, The taste will definitely differ because, we are using yellow moong dal. I hope you have soaked moong dal with the given amount of water (i.e 1/4cup). This step is crucial as the consistency will vary if you add more water.

I had tried the bajra khichu and rice khichu after following your recipes and moong dal khichu tastes equally delicious and easy to make too. Reminds me of home when I am far away studying from home.
