1/4 cup soaked and parboiled chana dal (split bengal gram)
2 tsp oil
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1 tsp finely chopped garlic (lehsun)
1 tsp finely chopped ginger (adrak)
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
salt to taste
