2 tbsp barley (jau) , washed and drained
salt to taste , optional

  1. Combine the barley and 1½ cups of water in a deep non-stick pan, mix well, cover with lid and cook on a medium flame for 12 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  2. Strain the mixture using a strainer.
  3. Add the salt and mix well.
  4. Serve immediately.

I was recommended this recipe by my friend to overcome nausea in 1st trimester... It is really pleasing, though I liked it only with salt.
