1 cup boiled mixed sprouts
1/4 barley (jau)
2 tsp olive oil or oil
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1 tsp green chilli paste
1 tsp garlic (lehsun) paste
1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
1/4 cup finely chopped cabbage
salt to taste
3 cups basic vegetable stock

Method

  1. To make mixed sprouts and barley soup, place the barley in a bowl of water. To remove the dirt wash and rinse the barley a couple of times till the water is clean and clear.
  2. Soak the clean barley in water for 3 hours or overnight. Drain the soaked barley.

  4. Cook on a medium flame for 10 minutes, while stirring occasionally. Strain and keep aside.
