To make rice porridge, heat the ghee in a pressure cooker and add the cumin seeds. When the seeds crackle, add the rice, salt and 3 cups of water, mix well and pressure cook for 5 whistles. Allow the steam to escape before opening the lid. Whisk the mixture well and cook on a slow flame for 5 to 7 minutes or till a thick consistency is obtained. Serve pressure cooker rice porridge immediately

1/2 tsp ghee
1/2 tsp cumin seeds (jeera)
salt to taste

Can i make this by regular rice making method? (by straining) without the pressure cooker?

   You cannot cook rice by straining in case of porridge as you want the rice to cook till soft.

This is truly a stomach-friendly recipe....the tempering of ghee and cumin seeds lends this rice a flavourful touch. Believe me, this rice does wonders and pleases your palate when all of your other favourite foods are on a ''NO-NO'' list.
