For the pizza sauce-
To make pizza sauce for bread pizza, heat the olive oil in a broad non-stick pan. Olive oil is widely used in Italian cooking to provide beautiful flavor to sauces but, if you don’t have it handy, make use of butter or regular vegetable oil.

Mix well and sauté for a few seconds or until the whole spices are aromatic.

Sauté on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes or until the raw smell goes away and onions are soft.

Add tomatoes. We have blanched the tomatoes, peeled, discarded the seeds and chopped them before adding to the pizza sauce.

Add tomato ketchup. It provides pizza sauce a beautiful color and tangy flavor.

Add sugar. If at all there is excess sourness in our tomato or tomato puree, the sugar will help in balancing out the flavors.

Add chilli flakes. It can be swapped with chili powder or paprika powder.

Add salt.

Mix well and cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.

Finally, add dried oregano. When using dried oregano, it is a good idea to crush it in the palms of your hand to help release the essential oils and extract maximum flavors from it.

Add basil. Every time a recipe calls for fresh basil, simply use whole leaves or tear large leaves into small pieces with your hands for the best flavor.

Mix well and our pizza sauce is ready.

How to make bread pizza in oven-
Before we began assembling bread pizza recipe | bread pizza in oven | bread pizza in tava | veg bread pizza | line the bread slices on a baking tray and preheat the oven. We have used white bread slices but you can use any variety of bread like whole-wheat bread, multigrain bread, masala bread.

Toast the bread slices in a pre-heated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 10 minutes. Alternatively, you can even toast the bread slices in the pop-up toaster till they turn light brown in colour.

Spread a portion of the prepared pizza sauce evenly over each bread slice.

Finally, sprinkle 1 tbsp of cheese over it. Use cheddar, mozzarella cheese or a combination of different cheese if you like. To make the bread pizza more filling, you can sprinkle some chopped vegetables too.

Bake again in a pre-heated oven at 200°c (400°f) for 5 to 7 minutes or till the cheese melts. If you do not have an oven, place the bread pizza on a broad non-stick pan or tava, cover it with a lid & wait for the cheese to melt.

Serve bread pizza immediately or else it will turn soggy.
Bread Pizza on tava-

Alternatively, you can even toast the bread slices in an oven if preparing in bulk or on a tava. Instead of whole wheat bread slices, you can also use white bread slices, multigrain bread slices.
