  1. To make matar idli, first blend 1 cup of fresh green peas with ¼ cup of water to make ½ cup of green peas paste.
  2. Combine semolina, matar paste, curd, green chilli paste, coriander, salt and approx. 3/4 cup water. Mix well and keep aside for 5 minutes.
  3. For the tempering, in a small non-stick pan heat oil, add mustard seeds, urad dal and curry leaves. Cook on medium flame for a minute.
  4. Pour the tempering over the idli batter, add eno and little water. Mix well and pour equal quantities of batter into greased idli moulds.
  5. Steam the idlis for 8 to 10 minutes on medium flame or until done.
  6. Remove and cool them slightly and demould.
  7. Serve matar idlis warm with coconut chutney or tomato chutney.

  15. Pour the tempering over the idli batter. Mix well.
  16. Add 1 tsp fruit salt.
  17. Add little water to activate eno.
  18. Mix gently.
