1 tbsp masoor (split red lentil) dal
1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
2 tbsp finely chopped french beans

  3. Veggies used in this recipe add a dose of fiber, to cleanse their stomach. They provide many vitamins nutrients too. 
  4. Salt has not been added to this Mixed Dal and Vegetable Mash as most pediatricians don’t recommend it till the age of 1 year. 
  5. Begin with a small quantity and gradually increase the feed. 

For Mixed Dal and Vegetable Mash for Babies

  1. To make mixed dal and vegetable mash recipe for babies | mixed dal and vegetable puree for babies | healthy mixed dal and vegetable mash for babies |  first combine the masoor dal and yellow moong dal in a bowl. Clean and wash both the dals with water.  
  2. Drain the excess water using a strainer and discard it. Keep the dals aside.  
  3. Then you need to chop the carrot to make Vegetable Mixed Dal Mash. For that buy the perfect carrot. Carrot should be firm, smooth, relatively straight and bright in color. Avoid carrots that are excessively cracked or bruised.   
  4. Wash the carrot very well with clean water to make it free of dirt if any. Wash it under running water to prevent any sort of contamination.   
  5. Wipe it with a clean kitchen towel. 
  6. Peel the carrot with a sterilized peeler. Peel it very well so that no fibrous part remain as these are not easily digestible by babies at  8 months.  
  7. Using a sterilized knife finely chop the carrots. Keep the chopped carrot aside.  
  8. Now prepare the French Beans. Always look for the youngest, brightest and freshest looking French beans that have crisp pods. Choose beans while they're still firm, rather than limp and rubbery. 
  9. Wash the French beans very well with clean water to make it free of dirt if any. Wash it under running water to prevent any sort of contamination.  
  10. Wipe them with a clean kitchen towel and pat dry them.  
  11. Chop the pointed edges from both the ends of each bean using a sterilized knife.  

  12. Using the same knife, finely chop the French beans.  
  13. Now transfer the washed yellow moong dal and masoor dal into a clean pressure cooker.  
  14. Add finely chopped carrot to it.  
  15. Add finely chopped French beans to it. You can use other vegetables like cauliflower or green peas also.  
     

  16. Add ¾ cup of clean water to it for cooking Mixed Dal and Vegetable Puree for Babies
  17. Mix well with the help of a ladle.   
  18. Close the lid of the pressure cooker and pressure cook for 3 whistles. Then allow the pressure cooker to cool down slightly and let the steam escape before opening it.  
  19. Open the lid. This is how cooked mixture for Mashed Vegetable Mixed Dal for Babies will look like. Again cool it slightly. Do not cool it too much as the mixture is not cooked hereafter.  
  20. Transfer the mixture into a mixer jar and blend till it is smooth. Do not drain the water. This will help in blending and getting the needed consistency of Mixed Dal and Vegetable Mash for Babies. Ensure that no pieces of carrot remain behind, as this might lead to choking.
