With a unique combination of spices, a dash of jaggery and sometimes tamarind too, the shaaks have many tongue-tickling dimensions. Sometimes, savouries like dhokli, muthia, patra and sev are also added to the shaak to make them unique and interesting. Perk up boring subzi like Turiya and Fansi by adding dhokli to it. Dhokli is a characteristic ingredient of Gujarati and Rajasthani cuisine. Sev Tameta is a popular Gujarati shaak made using tomato. The addition of jaggery balances the tanginess from tomatoes. Turiya Paatra and Dhokla Subzi are other unique subzi that are wholesome and satiating.

It consists of a wide range of seasonal vegetables stuffed with masala and cooked in a pressure cooker. Traditionally it is prepared underground in a clay pot.

Savory & sweet snacks, Mithais, Chatpata pickles with puris and rotis and mainly the subzis made in gujarati style. My Wife makes lots of guju subzi recipes by viewing Tarla Mams video recipes on Youtube.Sukhi aloo subzi, Tendli batata subzis, rasswali subzi is all time subzis made for our lunch & dinner. Gujarati dals is one of my favourite dish. I alway have atleast 2-3 kathoris of Guju Dals when it is made at our home. Manisha, my wife makes it perfectly. I would like to thank Tarla Mams for this wonderful recipe.
