How to make Sizzling Wontons with Sweet and Sour Vegetables Tags International vegetarian Curries Preparation Time: 30 mins   Cooking Time: 30 mins   Total Time: 601 hours    5Makes 4 to 6 servings Show me for servings Ingredients For The Dough (wontons)1 cup plain flour (maida)3 tsp refined oilFor The Stuffing (wontons)3/4 cup boiled noodles1 1/2 cups shredded cabbage2 onions , sliced1 carrot , grated3/4 cup bean sprouts1 tsp soy sauce2 tbsp refined oil oil for deep frying salt to tasteFor The Sweet and Sour Vegetables100 gms french beans4 sticks celery (ajmoda)100 gms carrot100 gms onions100 gms cauliflower100 gms cabbage100 gms cucumber100 gms capsicum4 tbsp refined oil salt to tasteFor The Sweet and Sour Sauce1/2 cup brown vinegar1/3 cup sugar1/2 cup water2 tbsp cornflour1 tbsp soy sauce4 tbsp tomato ketchupFor Serving chillies in vinegar chilli sauce Method For the dough (wontons)For the dough (wontons)Mix all the ingredients and add enough water to make a stiff dough.Roll out into very thin circles.For the stuffing (wontons)For the stuffing (wontons)Heat 2 tablespoons of oil on a high flame.Add the cabbage, onions, carrot, bean sprouts and cook for 3 minutes.Add the noodles, soya sauce and salt.How to proceed (wontons)How to proceed (wontons)Put a little stuffing on each dough circle and fold over to make a semi circle. Bring the ends together and press.Repeat with the remaining dough and stuffing.Deep fry in oil.For the sweet and sour vegetablesFor the sweet and sour vegetablesCut the french beans and celery into 25 mm. (1") pieces.Slice the carrots and onions.Cut the rest of the vegetables into flat pieces.Heat the oil on a high flame, add the vegetables and cook for 2 to 3 minutes. Add salt.For the sweet and sour sauceFor the sweet and sour sauceMix all the ingredients and put to boil.Go on cooking and stirring until the sauce becomes thick.How to proceedHow to proceedHeat the sizzler tray (thick cast iron tray) thoroughly.Spread the vegetables on the sides and put the wontons in the centre.Pour the sauce on top of the vegetables and wontons and sizzle on the gas or in the oven.Serve hot with chillies in vinegar and chilli.
