Ingredients


For The Chapati
1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
1 tsp oil
salt to taste

3 tsp oil for cooking

Method

For the chapati

  1. To make the {span class="bold1"}chapatis{/span}, combine all the ingredients in a deep bowl and knead into a soft dough using enough water. Keep aside for 15 minutes.
  2. Divide the dough into 6 portions and roll out each portion of the dough into a 150 mm. (6”) diameter thin circle using a little whole wheat flour for rolling.
  3. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle) on a high flame and when hot, place the {span class="bold1"}chapati{/span} gently over it.
  4. Cook it till small blisters appear on the surface. Turn over the {span class="bold1"}chapati{/span} and press all over lightly using a muslin cloth till it puffs up.
  5. Apply ¼ tsp oil on both the sides and cook for few more seconds.
  6. Serve the {span class="bold1"}chapati{/span} immediately.
