A quick batter of whole wheat flour, loaded with miscellaneous veggies, green chillies for spice and coriander for a peppy aroma, lets you make nice, golden brown dosas that will be loved by everybody. Filling and tasty, this Instant Whole Wheat Vegetable Dosa is ideal for breakfast. Relish it with hot sambhar and chutney. Ingredients


For Whole Wheat Vegetable Cheela
1 1/2 cups whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
salt to taste
1/4 cup finely chopped tomatoes
1/4 cup finely chopped onions
1/4 cup grated carrot
1/2 tsp finely chopped green chillies
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
5 1/4 tsp oil for greasing and cooking

Method

For whole wheat vegetable cheela

  1. To {span class="bold1"}whole wheat vegetable cheela{/span}, combine the flour, salt and 1¼ cups of water in a deep bowl and mix well using a whisk.
  2. Add all the remaining ingredients, and mix well using a spatula.
  3. Heat a non-stick tava (griddle), sprinkle a little water on it and wipe it off gently using a muslin cloth.
  4. Grease it with ¼ tsp of oil and pour a ladleful of the batter on it and spread it in a circular motion to make a 150 mm. (6”) diameter thin circle.
  5. Smear ½ tsp of oil over it and along the edges and cook on a medium flame till the cheela turns light brown in colour from both the sides.
  6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 to make 9 more cheelas.
  7. Serve the {span class="bold1"}whole wheat vegetable cheela{/span} immediately with chutney and sambhar.
