Method
    Main procedure
  1. Heat ½ tbsp of oil in a kadhai, add the coconut and onions and sauté on a medium flame, till they turn golden brown in colour, while stirring continuously. Allow to cool for a while.
  2. Add ¼ cup of water and blend in a mixer to a smooth paste. Keep aside.
  3. Heat the remaining 2½ tbsp of oil in the same kadhai, add the cloves, peppercorns, cinnamon and cardamom and sauté for a few seconds.
  4. Add the onions and sauté till they turn translucent.
  5. Add the masoor sprouts, tomatoes, chilli powder,turmeric powder, coriander powder, salt and 1 cup of water, mix well and simmer till the masoor is cooked.
  6. Add the prepared coconut-onion paste, mix well and simmer for another 5 to 7 minutes.
  7. Serve hot garnished with coriander.

Had it with rice. Tastes good mainly because of the onion coconut paste.

Real good one; everyone in our family liked it. I wanted to write review for this, but the search function for cookbook doesn't work at all. I put search string masoor, it showed all recipes, again I put malwani, it showed all the recipes, then I put masoor coconut for search string, again showed all the recipes. Need to fix the search function in cookbooks.
