What is healthy weight loss sprouts and vegetable salad made off? sprouts, spring onions tomato salad is made from 2 1/2 cups soaked and boiled mixed sprouts, 1/2 cup sliced spring onions (whites and greens), 1/2 cup tomato cubes, 2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania) with an Indian lime dressing.
What are boiled mixed sprouts?-
This is what mixed sprouts look like. Mixed sprouts are usually a combination of moong, kabuli chana, chawli, matki, red chana etc. We have taken 2 1/4 cups of mixed sprouts to give 2 1/2 cups of boiled sprouts.

Heat water in a pan and bring to boiling point.

Add some salt.

Add the mixed sprouts. We buy the ready made mixed sprouts from our local market in Mumbai. You can get this anywhere in India.

Let it boil on high flame for 6 to 8 minutes. This is image 1 taken at 1 minute.

Stir the sprouts several times just to mix the salt we added. This is image 2 taken at 2 minutes. We are cooking on a high flame right through making boiled mixed sprouts.

Add 1/2 cup sliced spring onions (whites and greens).

Toss well.

Cover and refrigerate. Cover is important as spring onions will make your fridge smell.

Refrigerate for at least 1 hour.

In a small glass bowl put 2 tbsp lemon juice.

Add 1 tsp chaat masala.

Add 1/4 tsp black salt (sanchal).

Add salt to taste.

Add freshly ground black pepper.

Just before serving, pour the dressing over the salad.
