Moong, also called Mung or whole green gram, is a type of legume that grows predominantly in Southeast Asia, especially India, and hence is a very big part of the Indian cuisine and food practices. Moong beans can either be cooked by boiling them in a pot of water or by pressure cooking them. They also have to be soaked for at least 2-3 hours before cooking them.
