Sesame Pak Choi

Sesame Pak Choi is a fabulous Oriental accompaniment, perfect to serve with noodles, rice or any other main course. It makes use of common ingredients like sesame seeds, sesame oil and soy sauce, and can be prepared in a jiffy.



The toasted sesame seeds give the Pak Choi a nice nutty flavour, while soy sauce gives it the traditional Oriental touch. A great way to increase your intake of green veggies, the Pak Choi is sure to appeal to everybody in your family.

Just remember to moderate the amount of salt you use, because salt is added while blanching and in the dressing; plus soy sauce always contain salt. So, use very little quantity of salt at each step.

Ingredients

2 cups pak choi , torn into pieces
2 tsp sesame (til) oil
1 tsp soy sauce
1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds (til)
salt and freshly ground black pepper (kalimirch) to taste

  1. Heat enough water in a deep non-stick pan, add the salt, mix well add the pak choi and cook on a medium flame for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  2. Strain the water using a strainer and rinse it under cold water. Keep aside and cool completely.
  3. Combine the sesame oil, soy sauce ,sesame seeds , salt and pepper powder in deep bowl, mix well.
  4. Add the pak choi, toss gently and serve immediately.
