Baked Carrot and Spring Onion Open Toast Video.Made of hot dog rolls topped with a delicious mixture of white sauce, carrots and spring onions, this open toast gets its fabulous flavour from chopped green chillies and hot and sweet sauce.

Ingredients


For Baked Carrot and Spring Onion Open Toast
4 hot dog rolls
melted butter for brushing
3 tsp hot and sweet chilli sauce

To Be Mixed Into A Topping
1/2 cup grated carrot
1/4 cup chopped spring onions whites and greens
1/2 cup deseeded and chopped tomatoes
11 tbsp (3/4 cup) thick white sauce
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
salt to taste

Method
  1. To make baked carrot and spring onion open toast, divide the topping into 6 equal portions. Keep aside.
  2. Divide each roll horizontally into two parts. Brush both the sides of each halve with a little melted butter.
  3. Bake the brushed hot dog rolls in a pre-heated oven at 200°c (400°f) for 5 to 7 minutes.
  4. Spread ½ tsp of hot and sweet chilli sauce evenly over each hot dog halve.
  5. Spread a portion of the prepared topping on each toasted halve.
  6. Bake them in a pre-heated oven at 200°c (400°f) for 10 minutes.
  7. Serve immediately.
