For Dalia Kheer
2 tbsp ghee
1/2 cup broken wheat (dalia)
2 cups milk
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 tsp cardamom (elaichi) powder
1/4 cup chopped mixed nuts
1 tbsp chironji nuts (charoli)


For dalia kheer

  1. To make {span class="bold1"}dalia kheer recipe{/span}, heat 1 tsp ghee in a pressure cooker, add the nuts and saute for a minute.
  2. Remove in a plate and keep aside.
  3. Heat the remaining ghee and add dalia. Saute on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  4. Add 1 cup water and 1 cup milk. Mix well and pressure cook for 2 whistles.
  5. Allow the steam to escape and then open the lid.
  6. Add sugar, remaining 1 cup milk, cardamom powder and nuts.
  7. Mix well and cook on medium flame for 3 to 4 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  8. Serve {span class="bold1"}dalia kheer{/span} hot.
