    How to make Paan shot:
  1. Before we make the paan shots recipe | betel leaves drink | paan sharbat | paan drink | we would like you to have a look at the Calcutta Paan leaves wich are dark green in colour. Use fresh leaves only.
  2. This is what the Paan masala looks like. You can purchase this from a Paan wala stall near you. Paan masala includes dried coconut shavings, gulkand, sweet candied cherries, cardamom and many other ingredients. We are not going to use the cherry but we will use the rest of the ingredients.
  3. Take a blender jar and add the Betel leaves by tearing them into small pieces.
  4. Now add the paan masala to this.
  5. Now we add the gulkand. Gulkand is a paste made with fresh roses for their sweet and unique taste. In case you don’t find gulkand, you can use a combination of sugar and rose syrup but that will not produce the same result.
  6. Now add the fennel seeds. This is also an important ingredient to get the proper taste of the paan.
  7. Add the ice cubes as well. This will not only make the Paan Shot mixture colder but it will also impart to its texture.
  8. Finally, add the ice cream now. This will give the creaminess and a little sweetness to the Paan Shot. If you want to avoid using ice cream, you can use full fat milk for a creamier taste as well.
  9. Shut the lid of the mixer and blend all the ingredients till you get a smooth mixture.
  10. Remove the mixture in a glass jar and refrigerate for at least 1 hour before serving. This is important as this helps the flavors of the all the ingredients of the paan shot | betel leaves drink | paan sharbat | paan drink | come together.
  11. Pour equal quantities into 12 shot glasses. Garnish the Paan Shot with almond and pistachio slivers or the Paan masala if you like.
  12. Serve the paan shots | betel leaves drink | paan sharbat | paan drink | chilled.

After preparing the paan shot do we need to refrigerate it before serving? And if yes then for how long and also before serving how much time before should it be kept outside refrigerator?

Hi Ridhi, Depends on how chilled you want. You should refrigerate minimum for 1-1/2 hour. You can serve it immediately after removing it from the refrigerator.

Hello, I made these paan shots today. The taste was yummmmm....however it was a bit thick in texture. Was confused if I should add some plain milk or water.. didn''t do anything and served. Everyone like it. Thanks for the lovely receipe. Just a query, what should I add to thin down the consistency without diluting the flavour
