For rava sheera

  1. To make {span class="bold1"}rava sheera{/span}, heat the ghee in a broad non-stick pan, add the semolina and sauté on a slow flame for 6 to 8 minutes. , while stirring occasionally.
  2. Add the milk, 2½ cups of hot water, mix well and cook for 1 to 2 minutes, while stirring continuously.
  3. Add the sugar, raisins and cashewnuts and mix well. Cover and cook on a slow flame for about 10 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  4. Add the cardamom powder, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 1 minute.
  5. Serve the {span class="bold1"}rava sheera{/span} immediately garnished with cardamom powder, raisins and cashewnuts.

How I wish I could upload a pic of the sheera I prepared. It turned out wonderful. The only variation I did to this recipe was to replace the sugar with the sugar syrup of canned kesar gulab jamun that I had preserved in the refrigerator. Thank you for helping novices like me rush out some lip smacking dishes for the family
