Ingredients


For Tariwale Aloo Mutter
2 tbsp oil
1 tbsp ghee
1 1/2 cups big potato cubes
1 cup green peas
1 black cardamom (badi elaichi)
1 small cinnamon (dalchini) stick
2 dry pandi chillies
1/2 cup finely chopped onions
1 tbsp ginger (adrak)
1 tsp finely chopped green chillies
1 cup tomato pulp
1 tbsp dried fenugreek leaves (kasuri methi)
salt to taste
2 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)

To Be Mixed Using 1/4 Cup Water
1 tbsp besan (bengal gram flour)
3/4 tbsp red chilli powder
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
2 tsp coriander (dhania) powder
1 tsp cumin seeds (jeera) powder

Method

For tariwale aloo mutter

  1. To make {span class="bold1"}tariwale aloo mutter{/span}, heat oil and ghee in a pressure cooker, add black cardamom, cinnamon stick, pandi chillies and cumin seeds and sauté for few seconds.
  2. Add onions and sauté on medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  3. Add the ginger garlic paste and green chillies and sauté for few seconds.
  4. Add the prepared masala paste and mix well.
  5. Add tomato pulp and cook on medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  6. Add potato cubes, green peas, kasuri methi, salt and ¾ cup hot water, mix well.
  7. Cover with a lid and pressure cook for 2 whistles, allow the steam to escape and then open the lid.
  8. Garnish with coriander and serve {span class="bold1"}tariwale aloo mutter{/span} hot.
