Ingredients


For Onion Bread Pakoda
5 bread slices
oil for deep frying

To Be Mixed Into Bhajia Mixture
3 cups thinly sliced onions
1 cup besan (bengal gram flour)
1/4 cup rice flour (chawal ka atta)
2 tsp ginger (adrak)
1/2 tsp turmeric powder (haldi)
1 tsp chilli powder
1/2 tsp chaat masala
1 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
3 tbsp finely chopped coriander (dhania)
salt to taste
1/2 cup water

For Serving
green chutney
tomato kethcup

Method

For onion bread pakoda

  1. To make {span class="bold1"}onion bread pakoda{/span}, combine all the ingredients for the bhajia mixture along with ½ cup of water in a deep bowl and mix well using your hands.
  2. Take a bread slice and cut it into 2 diagonally. Apply the bhajia mixture on each halve of the bread.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan and deep fry 2 to 3 onion bread pakodas at a time.
  4. Deep fry them on a medium flame until golden brown and crisp. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  5. Serve the {span class="bold1"}onion bread pakoda{/span} with green chutney or tomato ketchup.
