Ingredients


For Iyengar Bakery Style Rava Cake
1 cup fine semolina (rava / sooji)
1/3 cup oil
1/2 cup flavoured curds (dahi)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1 cup milk
1/2 cup plain flour (maida)
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp baking soda

Method

For iyengar bakery style rava cake

  1. To make the {span class="bold1"}iyengar bakery style rava cake{/span}, in a deep bowl, add oil, curd, vanilla extract, powdered sugar, rava and milk.
  2. Whisk well and cover with a lid and keep aside for 20 minutes.
  3. Now add plain flour, baking powder and baking soda and whisk well.
  4. Pour the batter into a greased and lined tin and bake in a pre-heated oven at 180° c (360°f) for 30 to 35 minutes.
  5. Remove, demould and cool completely. Cut into equal slices.
  6. Serve the {span class="bold1"}iyengar bakery style rava cake{/span}.
