20 paneer (cottage cheese) strips

To Be Mixed Into A Marinade (using Approx. 3 Tbsp Water)
1/4 cup roasted besan (bengal gram flour)
1/4 tsp carom seeds (ajwain)
1 tsp chilli powder
1 tbsp ginger-garlic (adrak-lehsun) paste
2 tsp oil
salt to taste

Other Ingredients
oil for deep-frying
chaat masala for sprinkling

  1. Combine the paneer and the prepared marinade in a deep bowl and toss gently.
  2. Heat the oil in a deep non-stick pan, and deep-fry 4 marinated paneer pieces at a time, on a medium flame, till they turn golden brown in colour from all the sides. Drain on an absorbent paper.
  3. Repeat step 2 to deep-fry the remaining marinated paneer strips.
  4. Sprinkle chaat masala evenly over them and serve immediately.
