Method

For tomato rice

  1. To make {span class="bold1"}tomato rice recipe{/span}, heat ghee and oil in a pressure cooker, add cinnamon stick, cardamom, black cardamom, star anise, cloves, bayleaf and onions.
  2. Sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes. Add ginger-garlic paste, green chillies and mix well.
  3. Add tomatoes and sauté on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
  4. Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, biryani masala, coriander-cumin seeds powder and mix well.
  5. Add basmati rice, salt to taste and 2 cups of hot water. Mix well and pressure cook on a medium flame for 2 whistles.
  6. Allow the steam to escape and then open the lid.
  7. Serve {span class="bold1"}tomato rice{/span} hot with raita of your choice.
