what is urad dal with palak sabzi made of ? palak urad dal sabzi is made from 1/2 cup urad dal (split black lentils) , soaked for 1 hour and drained, 1 cup finely chopped spinach (palak), salt to taste, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi), 1 tbsp oil, 1/2 tsp caraway seeds (shahjeera), 1/2 cup finely chopped onions, 1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes, 2 tsp finely chopped green chillies, 1/2 tsp chilli powder and 2 tsp lemon juice. soaking urad dal-
For urad dal with spinach sabzi recipe | palak urad dal | healthy urad palak dal | pick and clean the urad dal. Measure ½ cup and keep aside.

Wash the urad dal under running water or 2-3 times in a bowl while changing the water.

Drain the washed urad dal and transfer it to a bowl. Pour enough water and soak the urad dal.

Cover with a lid and keep aside to soak for 1 hours.

in a deep non-stick kadhai put the soaked urad dal.

Add 1 cup of water.

Add 1/4 tsp turmeric powder (haldi).

Add salt to taste. We added 1/4 tsp salt.

Mix well.

cook on a medium flame for 10 to 12 minutes, till the dal is cooked and soft. Keep aside.

Add 1/2 tsp caraway seeds (shahjeera).

Sauté on a medium flame for a few seconds.

Add 1/2 cup finely chopped onions.

Sauté on a medium flame for 1 minute.

Add 1/2 cup finely chopped tomatoes.

Add 2 tsp finely chopped green chillies.

Add 1/2 tsp chilli powder.

Mix well.

Cook on a medium flame for 2 to 3 minutes, while stirring occasionally.

Add 1 cup finely chopped spinach (palak).

Add 1 tbsp of water.

Cook on a medium flame for 1 minute , while stirring occasionally.

Add salt to taste. We added 1/4 tsp salt.

Add the cooked urad dal.

Add 2 tsp lemon juice.

Mix well.

Cook on a medium flame for 2 minutes, while stirring occasionally.
