Keep aside.Heat the ghee and oil in a deep pan and add the mustard seeds and cumin seeds.When the seeds crackle, add the fenugreek seeds, curry leaves, cloves, cinnamon, bayleaf, chillies, green chillies, ginger and asafoetida, mix well and sauté on a medium flame for few seconds.Add the tomatoes , mix well and sauté on a medium flame for 2-3 minutes.Add turmeric powder, chilli powder, coriander-cumin seeds powder, mix well and sauté on a medium flame for few seconds.Add the dal, salt and 1½ cups of water, mix well and cook on a medium flame for 7-8 minutes, while stirring occasionally.Add the yam, peanuts, jaggery, kokum, 1/2 cup of water, mix well and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, while stirring occasionally.Add the coriander and mix well.Serve the {span class="bold1"}gujarati dal{/span} hot garnished with coriander.
